QUICK ANSWER

Indoor Country is the mid-brightness farm map: teal walls and hay in lit and shaded pairs, and flat plywood standees that reward posing as scenery. Match the lit-or-shade variant of your surface, and mind rough materials.

Source basis: official Steam News for update facts; surface color values are community-measured (Steam guide, linked from our color codes library) — center-of-range starting points, not official data. Following our editorial policy, this page teaches surface strategy and does not invent “guaranteed hiding spots”.

Indoor Country — the farm-themed stage — sits in the middle of the difficulty curve: more color variety than Backrooms, far more light than Sewer, and a unique feature in the measured data: flat plywood standees, scenery cutouts that a posed Hider can plausibly imitate.

Map read

Bright, natural-ish palette with lit/shade pairs. Rough textures (hay, wood) forgive sloppy color but punish glossy bodies. The standees teach the map's core trick: look like scenery, not furniture.

How to read this palette

  • Every major surface comes in a lit and shaded value. Teal walls: 78cdae lit vs 3f8a86 shaded. Hay: 947141 vs 5a532c. The gap between pair members is large — pick the variant for your exact position, not the one you remember.
  • Hay and barn wood are texture surfaces. Rough, matte, irregular — they tolerate imperfect hue but a low-roughness body shines against them instantly. Set material first here.
  • The standees (c69a5e/b0834a) are a lesson in plausibility. The map already contains flat, person-sized decorations. A Hider holding a clean, deliberate pose against a wall reads as one more standee; a Hider mid-adjustment reads as a person. This map rewards finishing early and freezing more than any color decision.

Hider approach

  1. Choose between the two strategies the surfaces offer: blend into texture (hay, barn wood — forgiving color, demanding material) or pose as scenery (standee logic — demanding pose, forgiving detail).
  2. Use the lit/shade pairs: position yourself fully inside one lighting zone and paint that zone’s measured value.
  3. Grass carpet (accc77) is bright and open — treat floors as transit, not destinations.

Seeker approach

Count the scenery. Standees and props have a plausible-density: a cluster that looks slightly too crowded deserves a second look. Then check texture responses — anything smooth-looking against hay or rough wood is wrong. Finish with the lighting test: a body painted for shade standing in a lit patch pops out at a glance.
